In Igualada the Three Wise Men celebration is prepared in an accurate way, in order to fill children with joy and hope. One of the main events in the preparation is the arrival of Patge Faruk, the ambassador of the Three Wise Men. He arrives on December 28th , Day of the Innocent. Children with their parents, grandparents and other relatives receive this great personage, surrounded by a lot of other pages. Children, impressed by the spectacle of the page's arrival, sing his hymn: “Benvingut Patge Faruk” (Welcome, Patge Faruk). He explains the children what they have to do to make the Three Wise Men happy. He also tells them that they come from far away and that they are arriving in Igualada on January 5th in the evening, bringing with them packages full of toys.
Since December 28th Patge Faruk speaks every day through the radio stations. He names many children by their first and family names, he reproaches them their mischief and tells them they still have time to change and please the Three Wise Men. On January 1st at noon, children from Igualada give a letter to Patge Faruk, so he can give them to Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar. The Three Wise Men ambassador makes them reflect and gives them some advice in order to please Their Majesties so they will be generous. In the letter children ask the Three Wise Men all they want and tell them that they will behave better.
